Niley Shrestha is Senior Director – Investments at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. (“Oppenheimer”). In Niley’s twenty eight years of experience, he has worked for Bear Stearns, Morgan Stanley, and at Oppenheimer (from 1996 to 1998). He rejoined Oppenheimer in 2005.

Niley’s goal is to help clients succeed by combining their capital with innovative ideas in an environment of impeccable integrity and client-friendly service. He welcomes his clients’ other trusted advisors, such as CPAs and attorneys, onto the team to help them achieve the clients’ financial goals. In order to provide an especially informed perspective of a total financial picture, Niley has pursued coursework and certification in several related fields. He is well versed in sector allocation, retirement planning strategies, education funding, insurance, as well as in traditional and non-traditional investments. He also holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor title from the Investment Management Consultants Association.

Niley was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. At age 18 he won a full academic scholarship to Colby College, thus gaining entrance to the U.S. He earned a BS in physics, but was drawn to the financial services industry.

He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his two children. Additionally, Niley is a strong believer in giving back to the community. Therefore he has pursued many service interests in the past, such as serving as the President of Nepal Association of Northern California, being a Board member of a Nepalese orphanage, and is one of the founders of Annual Father Daughter Dance that raises funds for Children’s Hospital of Oakland. Niley is also an active member of the Global Nepali Professional Association.
